Russia Simplifies Pension Applications via Gosuslugi Portal

Russian citizens nearing retirement age can now apply for their old-age insurance pension through the Gosuslugi public services portal. The process has been streamlined, with faster approval times and clearer requirements for eligibility. Applications can be submitted up to one month before reaching the official retirement age—54 for women and 59 for men. To qualify, applicants must have earned at least 30 individual pension points and meet specific work experience and insurance coverage conditions.

If an applicant’s employment history is fully recorded in their Individual Personal Account (IPA), no extra documents are needed. However, incomplete IPA records require supporting documents to be submitted within three months of filing. Processing times vary: complete applications take five business days, while those with missing documents may take up to ten.

Once approved, notification of pension approval is sent directly to the applicant’s Gosuslugi personal account. For assistance, the unified contact centre is available toll-free at 8-800-10-000-01, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The new system aims to simplify pension applications by reducing paperwork and speeding up approvals. Applicants can track their status online and receive official confirmation through their Gosuslugi account. The contact centre remains available for those needing guidance during the process.
