Street on Briller Ave will retain two-way traffic for the moment.
Briller Straße in the Platzhoffstraße area will undergo a significant transformation starting from August 11, 2025. The project, which includes road repairs, the establishment of a bike lane, and the creation of a pedestrian crossing, is expected to take approximately two weeks, subject to weather conditions.
The total cost of the project is estimated to be around 110,000 €. Approximately 30,000 € will be allocated for the repair of the road surface covering an area of about 550 m². The remaining 80,000 € will be used for the creation of the bike turn lane and pedestrian crossing.
During the construction period, pedestrians will have uninterrupted access to the sidewalks. To ensure the safety of all road users, a detour will be signposted for vehicles. Buses will be allowed to pass in the opposite direction under a construction traffic light.
The section of Briller Straße will be made one-way towards Robert-Daum-Platz during the construction works. To enhance safety for vulnerable road users, a pedestrian crossing with a traffic island will be created near the kindergarten.
After the completion of works, the old road surface will be milled off to a depth of about four centimeters. New asphalt paving will then be done, followed by the addition of final markings.
Street furniture in this area will also be regulated and renewed as part of the project. A bike lane is being established in Platzhoffstraße, making it easier and safer for cyclists to navigate the area.
The project aims to improve the overall infrastructure of the area, ensuring a smoother, safer, and more accessible route for all road users.
The project's budget of 110,000 € will allocate 80,000 € for the creation of a bike turn lane and pedestrian crossing, demonstrating a commitment to both public-transit and pedestrian safety. The establishment of a bike lane in Platzhoffstraße is part of a larger aim to improve transportation infrastructure within the industry, making it easier and safer for cyclists.
