Uttar Pradesh transforms jobs and economy under Yogi Adityanath's leadership
Uttar Pradesh has seen a major rise in jobs and investments over the past nine years. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, the state government has filled over 9 lakh government positions. At the same time, large-scale industrial growth and recruitment drives have created millions of new employment opportunities.
Since 2017, the state has focused on expanding government jobs. Over 1.65 lakh appointments were made in the education sector alone. The UP Police recruited more than 2.19 lakh personnel during this period. Additionally, the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Board completed over 53,000 recruitments transparently between 2017 and 2025. Another 80,000 government job openings are planned for 2026.
The industrial sector has also grown rapidly. The number of factories in Uttar Pradesh now exceeds 31,000, with around 14,000 registered before 2017. Four Ground Breaking Ceremonies brought investment proposals worth Rs 15 lakh crore, generating over 60 lakh jobs. Over nine years, the state received investment proposals totalling Rs 50 lakh crore, expected to create opportunities for more than 1 crore young people. The MSME sector has played a key role in employment, supporting over 3 crore direct and indirect jobs. Government schemes have also helped over 18.55 lakh women in the state become *lakhpatis* (earning over ₹1 lakh annually).
The combined efforts in government hiring, industrial expansion, and skill development have reshaped Uttar Pradesh’s job market. With ongoing investments and planned recruitments, the state is set to create further employment opportunities in the coming years. The focus remains on both public sector jobs and private industry growth.
