FCMB Group appoints Adepeju Adebajo as director after record 2025 profits
FCMB Group Plc has appointed Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo as an Independent Non-Executive Director. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approved her position on May 8, 2026. She brings over 30 years of leadership experience across multiple industries.
The group also reported strong financial results for 2025, with profit before tax rising by 80% to N200.9 billion. Interest income surpassed N1 trillion, driving significant growth. Mrs. Adebajo’s career spans finance, renewable energy, agriculture, and consulting. She previously led Lafarge Africa Plc’s Cement business and held top roles at Mouka Limited, Lumos Nigeria, and UTC Nigeria Plc. Currently, she chairs the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund and serves as Transformation Lead at Etex Group.
Her academic background includes a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London. She also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.
FCMB Group’s financial performance in 2025 showed remarkable improvement. Profit after tax jumped by 141% to N176.9 billion. The group also raised N500 billion to meet the CBN’s international banking licence capital requirement. The appointment of Mrs. Adebajo strengthens FCMB Group’s board with deep industry expertise. Her leadership experience aligns with the company’s growth trajectory, following a year of record earnings. The group’s financial success and capital raise position it for further expansion under the new regulatory framework.
