Over 700,000 Russians to Get One-Time Pension Savings Payment in 2026

In 2026, over 700,000 Russians will receive a significant one-time pay from their pension savings. These funds, accumulated between 2002 and 2013 with employers contributing 6% of salaries, will be distributed to women aged 55 and men aged 60 and above. The pay amount will vary, averaging around 68,000 rubles.

Eligible individuals can choose to receive their pay in one of three ways: as a lump sum, a lifelong monthly pay, or a monthly pay for a limited period. The lump sum option is only available to those whose pension fund does not exceed 10% of the minimum pensioner's living wage.

The accumulation of these pension funds was frozen in 2014, and companies have since stopped making payments. Recipients of these future payments will need to register in early 2026, with exact dates depending on the implementing authorities.

Starting in 2026, eligible Russians will have the option to receive a substantial one-time pay from their pension savings. The registration process for these payments will begin in early 2026, providing a welcome financial boost to many pensioners.
