Dubai's trade mission to Ghana strengthens economic ties with record deals

A high-level trade mission from Dubai has wrapped up its first stop in Accra, Ghana. Led by Dubai Chamber of Commerce, the visit aimed to boost economic ties between the two regions. The delegation included 19 companies from sectors like automotive, food and pharmaceuticals. The mission began with the 'Dubai-Ghana Business Connect' forum, drawing 532 attendees. Senior officials and business leaders discussed trade opportunities during the event. Over three days, 276 one-on-one meetings took place between Dubai-based firms and Ghanaian counterparts.

Non-oil trade between Dubai and Ghana surged to AED 39.6 billion in 2025—a 60.1% jump from the previous year. This growth reflects stronger commercial links, with 225 Ghanaian companies now registered as active members of Dubai Chamber as of early 2026.

Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, headed the delegation. The visit forms part of the chamber’s 'New Horizons' initiative, designed to expand Dubai’s global trade network. The mission will now proceed to its second destination in Ethiopia. The Accra leg of the mission has set the stage for deeper business collaboration. With rising trade volumes and active company engagement, both sides look to build on these connections. The next phase in Ethiopia will further explore opportunities across the African continent.
