NTPC leaders honored with top IPSE Awards for public sector excellence

Two distinguished professionals from NTPC were recognised for their outstanding contributions at the Indian Public Sector Enterprise (IPSE) Awards. The ceremony took place on April 30, 2026, at the SCOPE Convention Centre in New Delhi. The awards, organised by PSE Journal and the ENERTIA Foundation, celebrate excellence in India’s public sector and its impact on the nation’s economy. K M Prashanth, the former General Manager of Corporate Communications at NTPC, received the 'IPSE Doyen of the Decade (Public Sector)' Award. With over 30 years of experience, he played a key role in shaping NTPC’s communication strategies and corporate affairs. His leadership in human resources and public relations helped strengthen the company’s reputation and operational success.

Anil Razdan, former Secretary (Power) to the Government of India, presented the award to Prashanth. The event was anchored and coordinated by Prof. A G Iyer, President of REPA and the ENERTIA Foundation. Another NTPC veteran, J.P. Sharma, was also honoured at the ceremony. Sharma, who previously served as Deputy General Manager (Corporate Communications), received the IPSE Lifetime Achievement Award for Excellence. The awards highlight the critical role of public sector enterprises in driving India’s economic growth.

The IPSE Awards continue to spotlight individuals who have made lasting contributions to India’s public sector. Prashanth and Sharma’s recognition reflects their decades of dedication to NTPC and the broader energy industry. Their work has helped strengthen corporate communication and operational efficiency within one of the country’s leading public enterprises.
