Khabarovsk Krai Pays Residents for Foraged Wild Greens in New Pilot
The Khabarovsk Krai Agricultural Fund has launched a new programme to buy surplus wild greens from local residents. This marks the first time such an initiative has included foraged plants like ramsons and ferns. Two local enterprises will handle the purchases on behalf of the fund. Residents looking to sell their wild greens must first submit an application to the fund or reach out to their district administration. Once approved, they can negotiate prices and quantities directly with designated suppliers.
This year, two operators—Lazovsky Products and Nekrasovskoye Homestead—are managing the procurement process. The fund itself acts only as an intermediary, leaving the details of pricing and volume to the suppliers and sellers. While this is the first time wild greens have been included, the fund has previously run similar schemes for other local produce, such as honey and potatoes.
The programme provides a new way for residents to sell surplus foraged goods. By working with established operators, the fund ensures a structured process for transactions. Local growers now have an additional outlet for their wild greens.
