In the picturesque town of Kalletal, Germany, the renovation of the Steinmeier bus stop on Heidelbecker Straße in the Kalletaler district has been halted due to unresolved land ownership issues. This issue is causing a delay in further development or renovation work on the bus stops.

However, progress has been made in recent years, with corresponding renovations carried out in Heidelbeck, Varenholz, Langenholzhausen, Hohenhausen, and Lüdenhausen. Notably, the renovated "Korf" bus stop at Schlosskrug, which was funded by NWL in the spring of 2023, has been made barrier-free and traffic-calming.

The current stalemate in the renovation process has not deterred Mayor Mario Hecker, who expressed confidence in the financial security of the renovation. He acknowledged the crucial role played by NWL, Bürgerinitiative, Dirk Tölle, and Stefan Pohl in the financial support and successful application of the renovation.

The renovation of the Steinmeier bus stop is part of the municipality's consistent path of renovating barrier-free bus stops. The new renovation is taking place at the entrance to the village, marking another step forward in the town's commitment to addressing traffic noise and improving traffic safety.

Despite the current challenges, the municipality remains hopeful that the land ownership issues will be resolved soon, allowing the renovation to continue and ensuring that the residents of Kalletal have access to modern, safe, and barrier-free bus stops.
