Gibson Energy reports steady Q1 2026 growth despite EBITDA dip
Gibson Energy Inc. has released its financial and operational results for the first quarter of 2026. The company reported a consolidated Adjusted EBITDA of $139 million, slightly down from the same period last year. Despite this, key segments showed growth, and major projects moved forward.
The company’s Infrastructure segment delivered an Adjusted EBITDA of $156 million, matching the previous year’s figure. A small increase of $1 million was noted in the first quarter compared to 2025. Meanwhile, the Marketing segment saw a stronger rise, with Adjusted EBITDA reaching $3 million—up $3 million from the same period in 2025.
Gibson also achieved a significant operational milestone, surpassing one billion barrels safely loaded at its Gateway terminal since its launch in 2020. Expansion efforts continued with the $400 million acquisition of Chauvin, further strengthening the company’s core infrastructure. To support this deal, Gibson secured $215 million in equity financing. New projects were also sanctioned, including the Hardisty Connection growth initiative. Additionally, the Wink-to-Gateway Integration project progressed, aiming to boost throughput and enhance connectivity at the Gateway terminal. Internally, Gibson restructured its operations to improve efficiency and customer focus. The changes are expected to generate annual savings of around $10 million starting in 2027.
Gibson’s first-quarter results reflect steady performance in its Infrastructure division and growth in Marketing. The company’s strategic acquisitions and project advancements position it for further expansion. With operational improvements underway, Gibson anticipates cost savings and enhanced service delivery in the coming year.
