Kazakhstan Debuts AI-Powered Virtual Assistant for National Statistics
Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics (Qazstat) has launched AI Stat, a new virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence. The tool aims to simplify access to statistical data and reduce the workload for users navigating digital platforms. AI Stat operates through a conversational interface, guiding users step by step. It helps with statistical reporting, form completion, and even selects the correct OKED activity codes. If a query is too complex, the system redirects users to a call centre for further assistance.
The assistant generates a list of mandatory statistical forms using a business identification number (BIN) or an individual identification number (IIN). Beyond this, it offers consultation, data navigation, and reporting support—all within one platform. Maksat Turlybbaev, head of Qazstat, highlighted that AI Stat provides statistical answers in just a few clicks. The service was first tested in April 2026 and improved based on user feedback. Currently available in two languages, an English version is planned for future release. Its development aligns with Kazakhstan’s broader efforts to digitalise government services and integrate AI technology.
AI Stat is now operational, offering faster and more efficient access to statistical data. The tool reflects Kazakhstan’s ongoing commitment to modernising public services through digital innovation. Users can expect further enhancements as the system continues to evolve.
