Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor breaks ground with Rs 326.51 crore first phase

The Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor project is set to begin its first phase with a groundbreaking ceremony on May 3. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will lead the event at Sector A in Nanod, marking the start of a Rs 326.51 crore development. The initiative promises improved infrastructure and economic growth for the region. The project spans over 1,300 hectares along a 20-kilometre stretch, featuring a 75-metre-wide road with a 300-metre development zone on each side. The total cost is estimated at Rs 2,360 crore. Officials from the district administration and the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) are engaging with landowners to explain the project’s advantages.

Under Chief Minister Yadav’s direction, land compensation for farmers has been raised from 50% to 60%. This adjustment ensures they receive a larger share of the developed land, increasing their potential earnings from residential, commercial, or other economic uses. The project also aims to attract investment and provide long-term financial benefits to those contributing their land.

The first phase alone carries a budget of Rs 326.51 crore. The ceremony on May 3 at 12 pm will formally launch construction, setting the stage for modern infrastructure and better connectivity in the area. The corridor is expected to boost local employment and investment through upgraded infrastructure. Farmers will gain from higher compensation and new economic opportunities. The project’s completion will support broader regional development and improved connectivity.
