The Seidewitz Valley Bridge, a crucial link between Pirna and Bahretal, will undergo a significant renovation from August 5 to October 2025. The renovation, which is estimated to cost approximately 2.0 million euros, will see the replacement of the road surface on both sides of the bridge.

The work will commence with the Dresden-bound direction, followed by the Prague-bound direction. Traffic safety measures, including lane closures and reduced speed limits, will be implemented to ensure the safety of both workers and drivers. These measures will be put in place from August 11, 2025.

During the renovation period, traffic will be one lane in both directions for approximately four kilometers. The speed limit in the construction area will be 100 km/h. A reminder for road users to adapt their driving behavior in the construction area for their safety and that of the workers.

The renovation is due to severe road damage and no further information about the reason for the renovation has been provided. No new traffic safety measures or interchange changes have been mentioned.

The renovation is scheduled to take place between the Pirna and Bahretal interchanges. Traffic will be managed carefully to minimise disruptions.

Renewal of the road surface layer on the Seidewitz Valley Bridge is a necessary step to maintain the safety and efficiency of the road network. Road users are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to expect some delays during the renovation period.

The renovation of the Seidewitz Valley Bridge covers the automotive industry's essential transportation infrastructure, extending to both finance and other commercial sectors reliant on this route, such as the local industry in Pirna and Bahretal. The funding for the 2.0 million euro project comes from the industry and finance sectors, highlighting the importance of maintaining a well-maintained road network for economic growth.
