Volvo XC60 Facelift Launched in India at Rs 71.9 Lakh

The Swedish automaker, Volvo, has introduced the facelifted XC60 in India, priced at Rs 71.9 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium mid-size SUV boasts subtle exterior updates, significant tech upgrades, and a powerful engine.

Stylish Exterior and New Color Options

The facelifted XC60 sports a sharper front grille with diagonal slats, similar to the updated XC90. The front bumper has been redesigned, and the LED headlights are sleeker. At the rear, the SUV features smoked LED taillights and new 19-inch alloy wheels. The XC60 facelift comes in two new color options: Mulberry Red and Forest Lake, while Platinum Grey has been dropped from the lineup.

Tech-Packed Interior

Stepping inside, the XC60 reveals a tech-laden cabin. The highlight is an 11.2-inch infotainment screen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform. The dashboard also houses a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, voice assistance, and Play Store integration for added convenience. The interior is adorned with premium materials such as Nappa leather, genuine wood trim, and contrast stitching. A crystal gear selector adds a touch of luxury.

Powerful Performance and Efficiency

Under the hood, the XC60 facelift retains the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system. This powertrain delivers 247 bhp and 360 Nm of torque, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.9 seconds. The XC60 facelift is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an AWD system for smooth and efficient performance.

Competing in India’s Premium Mid-Size SUV Market

In India’s premium mid-size SUV market, the XC60 facelift competes primarily with the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Lexus NX. While all four offer sophisticated luxury and technology, the XC60’s key strengths lie in its strong safety features, Scandinavian design, and software-enhanced infotainment system with Google integration that supports over-the-air updates.

Continued Success for Volvo

The XC60 facelift continues to be the brand's best-selling model globally, with over 2.7 million units sold to date. In the Indian market, it remains the best-selling car for Volvo. The XC60 facelift is E20-compliant and assembled at the Bengaluru plant in India as Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) units.

With its blend of style, technology, and performance, the Volvo XC60 facelift offers a compelling proposition for those seeking a refined and tech-forward SUV with a Scandinavian touch.
