Poland's 2026 unemployment benefits rise with work history adjustments

Poland’s unemployment benefits will rise next year as part of an annual adjustment. The Ministry of Family, Labor, and Social Policy confirmed the increase, which takes effect on June 1, 2026. County labour offices will administer the updated payments across the country. The new rates depend on how long a person has worked. Those with less than 20 years of service will receive PLN 1,783.90 ($485) before tax for the first 90 days. After three months, their payment drops to PLN 1,400.90 ($380).

Workers with over 20 years of experience get a higher amount. Their benefit starts at PLN 2,140.68 ($583) before tax for the first 90 days. After that period, it decreases to PLN 1,681.06 ($460). These adjustments happen every year on June 1 to match inflation. The latest rates will stay in place until the end of May 2027.

The changes mean higher support for unemployed individuals starting next June. The payments will vary based on work history, with long-serving employees receiving more. The updated benefits will remain fixed for the following 12 months.
