MTS boosts Uptar's LTE network with 20% faster mobile internet
April 28, our website – MTS PJSC has installed new telecommunications equipment in the settlement of Uptar, Magadan Region. Following the upgrades, LTE network performance in the hydrobuilders' town has improved by 20%. Over 1,600 residents of Uptar—including employees of local institutions and organizations, as well as students, teachers, and staff of School No. 23, a kindergarten, a cultural center, and an art school—now report better connectivity. The modernized infrastructure also provides reliable coverage and high-speed mobile internet for warehouses, industrial facilities, mining operations, and energy sector enterprises in the region, even during peak network demand.
"Uptar is a key logistics hub in the Magadan Region, home to storage and production bases that supply essential goods to northern districts and energy companies across Kolyma," said Yevgeny Nikishin, director of MTS in the Magadan Region. "Reliable connectivity supports digital services for transport operations—route planning, delivery tracking, order fulfillment, and dispatch—while also enhancing safety along remote routes. That's why MTS prioritizes building new base stations and deploying technological innovations to strengthen LTE performance. Earlier, we upgraded coverage along sections of the Kolyma Highway near the settlements of Yagodnoye and Orotukan."
