Gorodetsky dairy farmers smash milk production records in 2025
Gorodetsky Municipal District Honors Dairy Industry Leaders
The Gorodetsky Municipal District has announced the results of its dairy sector performance, awarding 46 employees and three agribusiness enterprises in a formal ceremony. Top performers who achieved record milk yields—over 9,000 kilograms per Holstein and Black-and-White cow—received honorary titles and diplomas. Machine milking operators with the highest yields per forage cow in their farms were also recognized, according to the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Branch of the United Russia party.
In recent years, the livestock sector has shown steady growth. "Every year, we rename our milkmaids' gathering—first we had the 8,000-liter club, then the 9,000-liter club, and now we're aiming for 10,000. There's still room to grow. But the most important result is satisfied consumers across Russia. Gorodetskoye Moloko is known nationwide, and people even travel here to try it. That's the highest recognition of our dairy farmers' and machine operators' hard work. I wish all industry workers continued success and prosperity for their families," said Alexander Mudrov, head of the Gorodetsky Municipal District and secretary of the local United Russia branch.
Dairy production in the district has long been profitable. In 2025, milk sales generated 145.6 million rubles in profit (up from 138 million in 2024), with total revenue reaching 816.5 million rubles (compared to 629.8 million in 2024). With a production cost of 36.23 rubles per kilogram and a selling price of 51.25 rubles, profitability stood at 21.7% (up from 12.2% in 2024).
By the end of 2025, agricultural enterprises and peasant farms in the Gorodetsky Municipal District produced 17,900 tons of milk—502 tons more than the previous year.
"We're seeing a consistent increase in milk yields, driven by advancing technologies that boost performance. But these technologies demand new skilled workers. The region supports young specialists with one-time payments, monthly bonuses, and housing improvement assistance. While competition with other industries is fierce, those committed to developing their homeland have our backing. We hope this will aid both youth employment and productivity growth. Even as automation and robotics expand, this work still requires the caring hands of qualified professionals. Their dedication ensures that Gorodetsky's livestock farms will keep thriving and setting new records," said Vladimir Bespalov, a deputy of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Legislative Assembly.

"I've been in this profession since childhood—first helping my mother, then choosing it as my own path. Today, it's a rare and demanding job. The key is to love the cows, care for them, feed them, and interact with them just as you would with people. I've managed to maintain a steady yield of 9,600 kg per cow, but my goal is to keep improving. Hitting 10,000 kg is realistic—our neighbors have done it, so we can too. It's rewarding to see our work recognized and appreciated. That gratitude motivates us to keep going and set new records," shared Yevgeny Parubov, a machine milking operator at Kuybyshev Collective Farm (SPK).
