Maharashtra CM Fadnavis orders sweeping upgrades to state healthcare system

Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a major push to strengthen the state’s healthcare system. On Monday Fadnavis began by reviewing the state’s Health War Room, which oversees healthcare services, disease tracking, and emergency responses. He then examined the progress of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, designed to deliver primary healthcare at the local level.

The Chief Minister also checked the status of Critical Care Blocks planned for district and sub-district hospitals. These blocks aim to boost emergency and intensive care facilities. He made it clear that all projects—including the new diagnostic labs—must be finished on time and without cutting corners. Fadnavis insisted that modern equipment and trained staff should be in place for reliable medical testing. He called for better coordination between departments to ensure a smooth and efficient system. Officials were told to track progress closely and keep execution transparent. Accountability was a key focus, with Fadnavis demanding regular updates to prevent delays. His goal was to guarantee that citizens receive improved healthcare services without unnecessary setbacks.

The directives cover multiple healthcare upgrades, from primary care centres to advanced diagnostic labs. With stricter monitoring and clearer deadlines, the state aims to deliver faster and more reliable medical support. The push reflects Maharashtra’s effort to build a stronger, more responsive health network.
