The BYD Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 plug-in hybrid off-roader is set to make its official debut in China by the end of 2025, showcasing a blend of advanced technology and bold SUV design.
This full-size vehicle, measuring 4.99 meters in length, 1.99 meters in width, and 1.86 meters in height, boasts a unique squared-off shape with a flat roof, multi-spoke wheels, and a retractable rear door. The two-tier rear light setup, integrated headlights in the front bumper, and a roof-mounted LiDAR system for advanced safety and driver assistance are other notable design features.
Inside, the dashboard is dominated by a large touchscreen display, reflecting BYD's focus on digital interiors. The hybrid system pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 154 horsepower (115 kW) with electric motors, delivering efficient performance. However, detailed powertrain output beyond the 154 hp engine figure has not been fully disclosed yet.
The Ti7 offers a two-row seating configuration, with the second row featuring a 60/40 split that can be folded for increased cargo space. Other fine features include roof rails, rugged door handles, grab handles, and a fuel door located in the left rear fender.
Spy photos have revealed at least two variants of wheel design, with the green car spotted with multi-spoke blackened rims, and the yellow SUV featuring five-spoke wheels with aerodynamic covers. The interior of the Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 was previously seen in older spy shots.
The Ti7 aligns with the variant previously revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), and it adopts the brand-new DMS plug-in hybrid system. The top-trim Ti7 is equipped with a 35.6 kWh FinDreams-made LFP pack, providing an electric range of 130 km.
The Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 will be available in two color schemes: black & white and black & orange. Photos of the SUV in these colors were shared by Chinese blogger SugarDesign. The car's gear shifter will sit behind the wheel, and the trunk has several power outlets for added convenience.
In summary, the BYD Fang Cheng Bao Ti7 plug-in hybrid off-roader is an exciting new addition to the Chinese automotive market, combining advanced DMS hybrid technology with a bold SUV design and modern technology features. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach its official debut later this year.
