Doman Building Materials reports mixed Q1 2026 results with steady earnings
Doman Building Materials Group Ltd. (TSX:DBM) has released its financial results for the first quarter of 2026. The company reported a slight drop in revenue but maintained steady earnings despite market challenges in certain product lines. The company’s consolidated revenues reached $762.0 million in Q1 2026, down from $793.2 million in the same period last year. The decline was mainly due to lower pricing in some construction materials categories. Gross margin dollars fell slightly to $129.5 million from $132.5 million in 2025. However, the gross margin percentage improved to 17.0%, up from 16.7% the previous year. Net earnings for the quarter were $23.9 million, a small increase from $23.6 million in 2025. EBITDA came in at $68.1 million, compared to $70.0 million in 2025. Amar S. Doman, Chairman of the Board, addressed the company’s performance, noting resilience despite pricing pressures in key segments. The Board declared a dividend of $0.14 per share, payable on April 15, 2026.
