Coalition Views Billion-Euro Package as Vote of Confidence - Brandenburg’s €3B Infrastructure Overhaul Gets Green Light for 12-Year Plan
Brandenburg has approved a three-billion-euro investment package to upgrade its infrastructure over the next twelve years. The plan, dubbed the 'Brandenburg Infrastructure Track Package', aims to improve the state's infrastructure and services.
The state parliament’s majority voted in favor of the package, with only the AfD opposing it. A dedicated fund, the 'Brandenburg Infrastructure Investment Fund', will manage the investments, which include 1.5 billion euros for local projects like fire protection, education, and sports. Half of this amount must be spent by 2029.
The investment package will roll out over twelve years, targeting key areas like transport, education, and public safety. With 1.5 billion euros earmarked for local projects, municipalities and the state government will coordinate spending. The first funds are expected to reach infrastructure projects as early as this year, with the 'Brandenburg Infrastructure Tracker' providing real-time updates on progress.
