Yamal-Nenets Leads Russian Housing Affordability for Families
In Russia, housing affordability varies significantly across regions. The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug leads the way, with 76.4% of families with two children able to afford housing, requiring an average income of 175,500 rubles. Nationally, 50.1% of families can rent housing, with an average required income of 123,000 rubles.
Krasnodar Krai, known for its popular resorts, has a lower housing price than the regional average. As a result, 40.7% of families can afford rental housing. The average household income needed to cover rent and living expenses in Krasnodar Krai is 115,600 rubles, placing it 66th in the country.
Coming in second is the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Yugra), with 75.5% of families able to rent, requiring an average income of 135,000 rubles. Sakhalin Oblast follows closely, with 64.8% of families able to afford rent, needing an income of 158,000 rubles.
While the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug offers the highest housing affordability for families with two children, other regions like Krasnodar Krai, Khanty-Mansi AO, and Sakhalin Oblast also provide significant opportunities. However, the specific region with the highest quota of families able to afford rent remains unknown.
