Yamal-Nenets Leads in Family Housing Affordability
In a recent analysis of family housing affordability, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug emerged as the top region, with 76.4% of families with two children able to afford rental housing. This is significantly higher than the national average of 50.1%.
Following Yamal-Nenets, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug (Yugra) took the second spot, with 75.5% of families capable of renting, requiring an average income of 135,000 rubles. Sakhalin Oblast came in third, with 64.8% of families able to afford rent, needing an average income of 158,000 rubles.
On the other end of the spectrum, Krasnodar Krai saw only 40.7% of families able to afford rental housing. However, housing prices in the region are lower than the average due to the presence of popular resorts in other parts of the krai. The required average income for rent and living expenses in Krasnodar Krai is 115,600 rubles, ranking it 66th nationwide.
The study also found that the average family income needed in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is 175,500 rubles, while nationwide, an average required income of 123,000 rubles allows 50.1% of families to rent housing. Despite the variations, these figures provide a snapshot of housing affordability across Russia for families with two children.
