Xpeng Unveils G7 Crossover with In-House Level 3 Semi-Autonomous Tech

Xpeng Motors has unveiled the Xpeng G7 crossover, featuring its latest semi-autonomous driving technology. The company has developed this Level 3 technology in-house, offering a significant leap forward for the brand.

The Xpeng G7 boasts the XPILOT 4.0 system, which uses a vision-only approach. It's equipped with 12 cameras, 3 × 4D radar, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, enabling Level 3 semi-autonomous driving. This technology is a testament to Xpeng Motors' engineering prowess, as it has designed and integrated it entirely in-house.

The P7 sedan, which also benefits from this technology, has seen remarkable demand. Analysts estimate that the total order intake has surpassed 70,000. When the redesigned P7 was launched, over 10,000 customers converted their orders into reservations within just seven minutes. The P7 sedan starts at RMB 219,800 ($30,750), making it an attractive option in its segment. Powering the P7 is Xpeng's own Turing computer chip, operating at an impressive 2,200 trillion operations per second (TOPS).

The Xpeng G7's launch further solidifies Xpeng Motors' commitment to advanced technology. With its in-house developed Level 3 semi-autonomous driving system and strong demand for the P7 sedan, Xpeng Motors continues to make significant strides in the automotive industry.
