On a Roll: PIMCO CEO Bullish on the US Dollar
Emmanuel Roman, CEO of fixed-income giant Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO), is riding high on the US dollar's future. In an exclusive interview with Bloomberg, Roman expressed confidence that the US will continue as the global safe haven, despite concerns about a deteriorating balance sheet and the past trade wars.
Roman argued that the US owns the world's reserve currency and, as of yet, no viable alternative threatens to dethrone the almighty dollar. Even though investors might seek to diversify from the dollar, the sheer size and liquidity of Treasury markets make it an undisputed heavyweight.
The financial systems' strength, liquidity, and American Exceptionalism contribute to the dollar's enduring popularity, Roman explained.
