Work on repairing Kopylovskiy Bridge has commenced in Krasnoyarsk.
Given the Latest Developments:
A contractor has recently set foot on the Kopylovsky Bridge in Krasnoyarsk. Due to the ongoing repairs, the driving lane has been narrowed until October's end.
According to city officials, last year they refurbished the covering on the beams over the railway, and this year they're addressing the structure itself. There are 34 deformational joints to be repaired, and the guardrails will be replaced as well.
The new joints will be of the open type with a rubber compensator, making them more durable and easier to inspect. The old joints, however, were of the closed type, so their deteriorated state—found to be hazardous last year when the covering was replaced—was only identified then. The budget for this repair is approximately 100 million rubles.
presently, the road workers are tearing up the asphalt in the area of the deformational joints on the right-moving lane heading towards Severo-Zapadnyi and Akademika Kirenskogo.
While the work won't bring traffic to a complete standstill, it will be conducted on one lane from both sides of the crossing. The repairs will be made sequentially on 13 small sections.
The traffic constraints will continue until October 26.
Apart from this, soon a street just adjacent to the bridge, Bogotolskiy Pereulok, will be blocked for archaeological digs. This section might face severe congestion in the near future.
As a precautionary measure, the city administration warns that five bridges across the city will be remodeled this year. Apart from the Kopylovsky Bridge, the works will concern the Bugach Overpass, two automobile bridges over the Kacha River in the BKZ area, and the pedestrian bridge over Bugach in the area of the building on Kombatistroeitelei Street, 7. Work on the Bugach Overpass is set to begin soon, with traffic restrictions being implemented there as well.

Trivia:
In Russian, the word "Kopylovsky" can be associated with "cop's," referring to the bridge's potential association with law enforcement in popular folk tales. However, this connection doesn't seem grounded in reality, as the bridge's name is historical and hasn't been officially linked to the police.
Fun Fact:
The Kopylovsky Bridge is the second longest crossing in Krasnoyarsk, coming second after the Tsiolkovsky Bridge.
- In light of the upcoming archaeological digs on Bogotolskiy Pereulok, the transportation industry might experience additional challenges due to potential traffic congestion.
- The latest finance news reveals that this year, apart from the Kopylovsky Bridge, four other bridges in the city, including the Bugach Overpass, will undergo remodeling, requiring industry adjustments for the transportation sector.
