Wisconsin Home Prices Rise, Sales Up 6.9% in September 2025

Wisconsin's housing market showed mixed trends in September 2025. The median home price reached $337,000, while sales increased by 6.9% year-over-year. Meanwhile, mortgage rates dropped below 6.5%.

The median home price in Wisconsin dipped slightly from August 2025's $338,000. Despite this, prices rose by 8.7% compared to September 2024. Sales have been more sluggish since January 2025 than in the same period last year.

South central Wisconsin, including Madison and Dane County, maintained the highest median home price at $389,900. Southeast Wisconsin led the state in sales, accounting for 34% of closings. Its median home price stood at $350,000, the second highest in the state.

While Wisconsin's home prices continue to rise and sales increase, the market shows signs of slowing down compared to last year. More homes are available, and mortgage rates have decreased, potentially making homeownership more accessible.
