Windows Users Under Urgent Threat: Act Now to Thwart Microsoft Attacks Impacting 240 Million

Microsoft users beware! This month's Patch Tuesday addresses a whopping 67 security vulnerabilities, with six of them currently being actively exploited. The U.S. cyber defense agency urges users to update their PCs by April 1st, or turn them off due to the alarming number of un addressed bugs.

Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative highlights the number of exploited zero-day vulnerabilities as "extraordinary." While these six critical flaws will grab headlines, there are other terrifying-looking bugs to contend with. Among the security fixes, Microsoft has released 56 new CVEs in Windows and Windows Components, Office and Office Components, Azure, .NET and Visual Studio, Remote Desktop Services, DNS Server, and Hyper-V Server.

The Register warns that the update includes a "dirty dozen flaws" competing for your urgent attention - six of them rated critical and another six already being exploited by criminals. In related news, Google's Android decision may affect all Samsung and Pixel users. Although there remain approximately 800 million users on Windows 10, its end of life for security updates is fast approaching on October 14th. It's estimated that as many as 240 million may not have PCs capable of a free Windows 11 upgrade. As October nears, prepare to read more about those being forced to upgrade their PCs before the deadline, and the potential landfill from hundreds of millions of PCs becoming obsolete all at once.

If your Windows 10 PC is unable to upgrade, act before the deadline hits and security updates cease. The sheer scale of exploited vulnerabilities this year highlights just how perilous it will be to leave your device exposed. If you'd rather pay $30 and buy yourself an extra year, rather than funding a new machine, then do that. By all means, act now to protect your device.

  1. Microsoft has issued warnings for potential vulnerabilities on Windows 10, Windows 11, and other platforms, as the number of un addressed bugs and actively exploited zero-day vulnerabilities becomes increasingly alarming.
  2. On a worrying note, the end support for Windows 10 is approaching in October, which could leave approximately 240 million users vulnerable to cyber attacks, unless they are able to upgrade to Windows 11.
  3. Moving forward, it's essential for Microsoft users to stay vigilant and update their systems promptly. This Wednesday, the severity of the vulnerabilities addressed during Microsoft's Patch Tuesday will be released, offering users a chance to address potential threats before they are exploited.
