Which Digital Currency Prevailed in the Crypto Market Domination in Q4 of 2025: Solana or Ethereum?
In the dynamic world of cryptocurrurrencies, Solana is making waves as it challenges Ethereum's dominance. The fourth quarter (Q4) is shaping up to be a banner cycle for Solana, with a host of positive factors contributing to its growth.
Recent data shows an inflow of nearly 20,000 ETH to exchanges, indicating a weakening of buying pressure for Ethereum. Conversely, Solana is attracting almost 10 times more daily activity than Ethereum this month, a clear sign of growing interest in the Layer-1 blockchain.
Solana's low fees could be a significant factor in its continued outperformance of Ethereum. While the average transaction fee for Ethereum in September was close to $3, Solana's average transaction fee remained stable at around $0.005. This difference in fees is not just noticeable to individual users but also to institutions, as Solana's network activity is growing, reflecting its increased use.
Solana's superior scalability is another key factor. It offers up to 56 times more transaction capacity and around 30 times faster transaction speeds compared to Ethereum. These advantages enable Solana to handle high throughput with low fees without relying on Layer-2 solutions, unlike Ethereum which increasingly depends on such solutions for scaling.
The shift in capital on the blockchain network from Ethereum to Solana is evident. Since September 9, Solana's supply on exchanges has decreased from 5.29% to 4.72%, a clear indication that institutional investors or 'smart money' are reorganizing their portfolios.
The adoption of Solana is starting to penetrate into major financial sectors such as Wall Street. The trading volume of Solana is Rp 9,05 Miliar, significantly higher than Ethereum's Rp 1,07 Miliar. The SOL to ETH ratio jumped by 8.66%, becoming the largest weekly gain since early April.
As of now, the current price of Solana is Rp 3,890,036, while Ethereum stands at Rp 74,308,138. The market cap of Solana is Rp 77,2 Miliar, surpassing Ethereum's Rp 6,41 Miliar.
The potential for Solana in Q4 is promising, with projections of further widening the gap between the two blockchain giants by 2026. As Solana continues to outperform Ethereum, it will be interesting to see how the cryptocurrency landscape evolves in the coming months.
