Weyerstraße Renovation to Transition into Single-Lane Traffic by Late August

In the heart of Solingen, Germany, a significant renovation project is underway on Weyerstraße, affecting local bus services. Here's what you need to know about the changes to bus lines 682, NE22, and 693, as well as the impact on certain stops.

Starting from Monday, August 4, Weyerstraße between Caspersbroicher Weg and Monhofer Straße will undergo renovation. As a result, bus lines 682 and NE22 will be rerouted until at least August 26.

After the regular stop at Röntgenstraße, bus lines 682 and NE22 will turn right at the traffic light onto Bebelallee and serve the Humboldt School stop (stop for line 693). Opposite traffic towards Ohligs will be rerouted via Bebelallee, Merscheider Straße, Kamper Straße, Zweibrücker Straße, Wilhelmstraße, and Bahnstraße up to Kasparstraße.

Unfortunately, the stops Kronprinz, Schleifersberg, Kullen, and Rennpatt on the regular route towards Hauptbahnhof are cancelled for bus lines 682 and NE22 during this period. There are no more stops for these bus lines until the destination of Hauptbahnhof.

The Linie Bus Service to Ohligs is also being rerouted due to the renovation. The changes in the Linie Bus Service to Ohligs due to the renovation are effective starting Monday, August 4.

The renovation includes a new road surface, two new barrier-free crossings, and an existing traffic island being made barrier-free. Additionally, improvements for future bike guidance are planned, including adjusting the curb in some areas and marking a protected bike lane with a solid line towards Wald, which cannot be crossed.

Construction is planned to complete the asphalt work by the end of the summer holidays, weather permitting. After the renovation, a bike lane with a dashed line will be marked towards Ohligs. The section of Weyerstraße between Ohligs and Wald will become a one-way street starting from construction, with the one-way direction being from Ohligs towards Wald.

For precise and updated details on the rerouting and stop impacts, I recommend consulting the official Solingen public transport provider’s announcements or the local municipality information regarding the Weyerstraße renovation project. Stay informed and plan your journey accordingly!

Starting from August 4, the industry of transportation will experience changes in Solingen, Germany, as bus lines 682 and NE22 will be rerouted due to renovation on Weyerstraße, causing disruptions at several stops including Kronprinz, Schleifersberg, Kullen, and Rennpatt towards Hauptbahnhof. In the financial aspect, the Linie Bus Service to Ohligs will also be affected by the renovation.
