Vietnam Opens $1.04B EPC Package for Quang Trach II Power Project

Vietnam has opened the EPC Package No. 08 (EPC-QTII) for international bidding, with a deadline of November 7. This package, valued at VND26 trillion ($1.04 billion), is vital for the Quang Trach II power project. It covers the full survey, technical design, construction drawings, equipment supply, installation, test runs, and compulsory insurance during construction.

The Quang Trach II plant, scheduled to begin construction by the end of 2023, will ensure a stable power supply for the northern region. It will feature an LNG berth and storage tank, with the first turbine generating power in Q4 2028 and full completion in 2030.

Several international companies, including major engineering and construction firms from South Korea, Japan, and China, have participated in the EPC package No. 08 tender. Bidding documents require audited financial statements for the past three years, along with additional documents for both domestic and foreign bidders.

The EPC-QTII package is open for bidding until November 7. Successful bidders will play a crucial role in the progress of the Quang Trach II power project, ensuring a stable power supply for the northern region by 2030.
