V & S City Centers to Boost Retail with '1 Hour Free Parking' Initiative
Villingen and Schwenningen city centers are set to become more shopper-friendly this October 2025. The Citymanagement and Gewerbeverband Oberzentrum e.V. (GVO) have joined forces to launch '1 Hour Free Parking in V & S'. This initiative aims to boost local retail and gastronomy by offering free parking for one hour, with participating businesses easily identifiable by a sticker.
The action will kick off with a pilot phase, providing 2,000 free parking tickets to customers. Non-GVO members can grab these tickets at a special price of €1, while GVO members enjoy an even lower rate of €0.50. The participating businesses span across both town centers, with retail shops being the primary beneficiaries.
If the pilot phase proves successful, the action will continue in an adapted form. To assess its impact, a customer questionnaire will be distributed post-pilot. The goal is to create added value for trade, gastronomy, and customers alike, enhancing the overall attractiveness of the city centers.
The '1 Hour Free Parking in V & S' action is poised to make shopping in Villingen and Schwenningen city centers more convenient and appealing. With numerous businesses on board and a customer-focused evaluation process, this initiative is set to strengthen local retail and gastronomy.
