All right, let's get down to it. The pension fund payments have surpassed an eye-watering 1 trillion tenge mark, according to Total.kz. 173,000 Kazakhs, to be precise, have used these funds to boost their housing situations and cover medical expenses.

Zhanar Zholtaeva, press secretary of AO "Otbasy Bank", shared this shocking figure. Of these recipients, a third were women (54,071) and two-thirds were men (118,850).

The Mangystau region emerged as the top user, with a whopping 30,229 individuals utilizing over 291 billion tenge. Nur-Sultan wasn't far behind with 27,635 people using over 172 billion tenge, and Almaty followed suit with 23,321 users accounting for over 184 billion tenge.

Berik Uali, press secretary of the President of Kazakhstan, previously reported that 16,075 borrowers have fully repaid their current mortgage loans as part of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's initiative to leverage pension savings for housing improvements.

Now, here's a bit more context about these pension services and programs in Kazakhstan. The Unified Accumulative Pension Fund (UAPF) offers a vast array of services, with over 16.5 million services delivered since 2025, primarily electronically or automatically. The "National Fund for Children" program, while primarily supporting housing improvements and education, hasn't focused specifically on medical treatment.

It's also worth mentioning that Kazakhstan's economy is supported by a variety of economic activities in regions like Mangystau, Nur-Sultan, and Almaty. The Gross Regional Product (GRP) is a crucial indicator of regional economic performance. Lastly, Kazakhstan has a history of pension reform, with a focus on investment in corporate and government bonds.

For more detailed information on pension fund usage in specific regions, it's best to consult regional government reports or pension fund statements tailored to each area.

Personal-finance decisions can significantly impact individuals' lives, as evident in Kazakhstan where a large portion of the pension funds have been used for housing and medical expenses.
