Ukhta Awards Housing Subsidies to 18 Young Families in 2024

Eighteen young families in Ukhta will receive housing subsidies this year as part of a long-running support scheme. The initiative forms part of the national Family project and the federal Young Family programme, which aim to improve living conditions for residents across Russia. The programme has been active in Ukhta since 2007, providing financial assistance to young families struggling with housing costs. Over its lifetime, 534 families in the city have already benefited from the subsidies.

Funding for the scheme comes from a mix of federal, regional, and municipal budgets. The initiative also falls under the broader *Affordable and Comfortable Housing and Utilities for Russian Citizens* project, which seeks to address housing shortages nationwide. Russian President Vladimir Putin directed the rollout of national projects in the region, with Komi Republic Head Rostislav Goldstein overseeing their implementation. This year, Ukhta Mayor Marina Metelyova personally handed out the certificates to the selected families.

The latest round of subsidies will help 18 more families secure housing in Ukhta. Since its launch, the programme has supported over 500 households in the city alone. Officials continue to allocate resources from multiple government levels to sustain the initiative.
