Taiwan's NT$18 Billion Export Support Program Extended

The Fishery and Agricultural Export Supply Chain Support Program in Taiwan, initially scheduled to end in 2025, has been extended until December 2026. This extension aims to provide continued financial assistance to the agricultural and fishing sectors.

The program's enhancements include an increase in loan limits for enterprises and farming associations from NT$30 million to NT$60 million. Additionally, subsidy rates have been raised for various sectors to boost export capabilities.

Subsidies for Fisheries and Agriculture

The fisheries sector will receive subsidies for raising tilapia, seabass, or other affected fish species, with cold chain facility subsidies also available. The edamame industry will also benefit from cold chain facility subsidies.

In the agricultural sector, the floriculture industry will receive a 40% subsidy for agricultural workers, with an upper limit of NT$5 million, and a 60% subsidy for agricultural groups or companies, with an upper limit of NT$10 million. Subsidies will also be provided for agricultural groups or companies joining the fisheries improvement project for mahi-mahi, covering 50% of spending per unit, up to a maximum of NT$3 million.

Export Incentives and Loan Subsidies

Export incentives have been introduced for various products, such as flowers and seedlings, seabass, tilapia, mahi-mahi, milkfish, squid, edamame, tea, and ornamental aquatic species. The incentives range from NT$40 per kilogram for flowers and seedlings to NT$100 per kilogram for ornamental aquatic species.

The program will fund agricultural loans to exporters or those affected by increased US tariffs, with a loan interest subsidy boosted to 1%. For the US market, incentives can be adjusted based on the effects of US tariffs.

Support for Processing and Cold Storage

Incentives will be granted to aquaculture farmers collaborating with processors to ensure stable production and supply. Fishery processing and cold storage industries can receive up to 5% interest subsidies, while agricultural product processing and cold storage industries can receive up to 2% interest subsidies.

Additional Services

Flower characteristic testing and technical diagnostic services will be fully subsidized. Cold chain export logistics subsidies will be provided to the floriculture industry. Furthermore, the program will fund transportation equipment for agricultural groups or companies, with a 50% subsidy per unit, up to a maximum of NT$2 million.

The Fishery and Agricultural Export Supply Chain Support Program is now open for applications, encouraging the development of exports to the US and other overseas markets. This program aims to strengthen export supply chains by providing financial support via increased loans and higher subsidy rates tailored to each industry segment.

  1. Businesses in the agricultural and fishing sectors are offered increased loan limits, reaching NT$60 million, to further develop their export capabilities.
  2. Aiming to boost personal-finance for agricultural workers, the floriculture industry receives a 40% subsidy, up to NT$5 million, and businesses a 60% subsidy, up to NT$10 million.
