Two and Signicat team up to fight B2B fraud with real-time buyer checks
Two and Signicat have announced a partnership to improve buyer verification in B2B e-commerce. The collaboration aims to tackle fraud and streamline transactions by confirming a purchaser's authority to act on behalf of their European company. This comes as fraud in European fintechs rises, with many cases exploiting gaps in corporate identity checks.
The new system combines Two's B2B payment platform with Signicat's identity verification tools. Together, they verify both a buyer's personal identity and their legal authority to make purchases for their company in real time. This eliminates the need for manual credit applications while offering instant payment terms to approved businesses.
The process also addresses the 'authority gap'—a common issue in B2B transactions where sellers struggle to confirm whether an individual has the right to commit company funds. By linking personal identity checks with live company registry data, the partnership reduces fraud risks and speeds up approvals.
For buyers, this means a smoother checkout experience with automatic access to business credit terms. The solution is particularly relevant as B2B e-commerce grows, with global sales expected to hit $36 trillion by 2026. Fraud and compliance hurdles remain key challenges, especially as 54% of European fintechs reported increased fraud in 2025.
The partnership leverages existing online payment systems in six European countries, including Belgium's itsme, Italy's SPID, and Germany's eID. These national solutions help ensure secure and standardised verification across borders.
The integration of Two's and Signicat's platforms provides real-time verification for B2B buyers. Merchants can now offer instant payment terms without manual checks, reducing fraud and improving efficiency. The system is already operational in several European markets, using established national online payment frameworks.
