TRATON Names Karl Bernqvist as New CPO, Succeeding Murat Aksel
TRATON and MAN Truck & Bus SE have announced a change in their Executive Board. Karl Bernqvist will take over as Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO) of TRATON and a member of the Executive Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE, effective November 1, 2025. He succeeds Murat Aksel, who is leaving due to differing views on the company's future strategy.
Bernqvist brings a wealth of experience to his new role. He previously served as the head of the Procurement division at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and held various purchasing positions at MAN Truck & Bus, Scania CV AB in Sweden and Brazil. Most recently, he was the Managing Director at Global Truck & Bus Procurement in the USA. Both Christian Levin, CEO of the TRATON GROUP, and Alexander Vlaskamp, Chairman of the Executive Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE, welcomed Bernqvist's appointment, citing his extensive experience and potential contributions to TRATON's ongoing transformation.
Murat Aksel, who has been instrumental in the turnaround of MAN Truck & Bus and the transformation of the TRATON GROUP, will leave his position. Levin and Vlaskamp expressed their gratitude towards Aksel for his contributions and wished him success in his future career.
Karl Bernqvist will assume his new role as CPO of TRATON and member of the Executive Board of MAN Truck & Bus SE on November 1, 2025. His broad experience in procurement is expected to strengthen the company's strategic position. The exact predecessor of Bernqvist in this dual role is not currently documented in publicly available sources, but Marie Carlsson previously held the position of CPO of TRATON before a company restructuring in early 2024.
