In Sweden, train services between Vikingstad and Mjölby are currently experiencing disruptions due to a signal failure. This issue, located outside Hallsberg, is also affecting trains traveling between Vikingstad and Mjoelby, as well as trains on routes connecting Stockholm and Malmö, or Norrkoeping and Motala.

As of now, the precise status of the services—whether they are halted, running with delays, or being replaced by buses—has not been officially updated. The Transport Administration does not have a forecast for when trains will be running again due to the signal failures outside Hallsberg.

Staff have been working on-site since around 7.30am on Thursday to fix the issue, but the signal failures may lead to further delays and cancellations to train services. Swedish train company SJ has reported some trains have been diverted and are running at reduced speed.

One example of the disruption's impact is the Snälltåget train from Stockholm to Malmö, which was scheduled for 9.12pm on Wednesday but arrived at 7.38 on Thursday. Trains have not been running between Vikingstad and Mjölby since 5pm on Wednesday, and the services between Vikingstad and Mjölby were cancelled as a result.

The affected stations include Linkoeping C, Mjoelby, Motala, Kimstad, Vikingstad, Linghem, Norrkoping, Naessjo, Aelmhult, Hassleholm, Lund, Stockholm, Alvesta, and Malmo C. Train company SJ is unable to provide replacement transport in the quantity needed for the cancelled departures.

For the most accurate and timely information, it is recommended to check the latest updates from Swedish train operators like SJ (Swedish Railways) or the national traffic management authorities, as they provide real-time info on signal failures and service restorations.
