New Railway Station Opens in Dettum, Lower Saxony

Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, the railway station in Dettum, Lower Saxony, will be operational on the Wolfenbüttel-Schöppenstedt route. A new platform, measuring 140 meters in length and 2.6 meters in width, has been built to accommodate the trains.

The new platform offers a range of amenities for passengers, including barrier-free access, ensuring step-free pathways, and a weather shelter with seating. It also features a dynamic display with a loudspeaker module, allowing passengers to access real-time information about train traffic. For the visually impaired, a tactile guidance system has been installed.

However, due to supply bottlenecks, trains on line 45 cannot stop in Dettum between 8 pm and 6:30 am. During these hours, a shuttle service will be available to facilitate transportation. The shuttle will depart from Schöppenstedt at 10:34 pm and will stop at the railway station in Dettum, as well as the bus stop Dettum Church.

It's worth noting that this shuttle service is not a regular train service on the Wolfenbüttel-Schöppenstedt route. Instead, it is part of the replacement traffic. The shuttle service will run on August 22 and 23, coinciding with the Ackerfest in Schöppenstedt.

While the new platform is expected to facilitate school and commuter traffic during the day, for precise and up-to-date details on operational changes, including nighttime restrictions and shuttle services on the Wolfenbüttel-Schöppenstedt route due to the new Dettum platform, it is recommended to consult official sources such as the local transport authority (e.g., Braunschweiger Verkehrs-GmbH) or the railway operator's announcements.

The Ackerfest in Schöppenstedt is a special event, and during such occasions, shuttle bus services may be provided to accommodate passenger flows when train service is restricted or modified. For specific information about these services, it is advisable to check with the organisers or the local transport authority.

In conclusion, the new railway station in Dettum is now operational, offering a convenient transportation option for passengers. However, it's important to be aware of the nighttime restrictions and the availability of shuttle services, especially during special events like the Ackerfest.
