Traffic restrictions imposed during Victory Day celebrations in Sochi.

Prepare yourself for a bit of detour as traffic restrictions will be in play starting May 5, right up until the 10th, in Sochi. The reason? The city's grand 80th anniversary celebration of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War!

Here's the scoop:

  • From 8 a.m. on May 5 to 8 p.m. on May 10, Theater Square will be off-limits to two-way traffic; traffic behind the Winter Theatre will be diverted instead.
  • Theater Street will be affected too. Traffic behind the theater will be restricted from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on May 7 and from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on May 9.
  • On May 8, you'll need to find an alternative route as both Constitution Street and Nesebrskaya Street, between Parkovaya Street and house No. 3 on Voykov Street, will be closed from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • On May 9, be mindful of the road closures at the intersection of Sevastopol Street with Sevastopol Lane and Tunnel Street, from 6 a.m. to noon. Access to house No. 17 on Sevastopol Street will also be limited during this period.
  • Two-way traffic will be temporarily organized on Chernomorskaya Street from Theater Square to its intersection with South Street on May 7 and 9, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

In light of these changes,Map out your commute ahead of time to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Take note that similar traffic restrictions are also expected in Novorossiysk for the Victory Day rehearsals.

Stay tuned for more updates and announcements from the press service of Sochi's administration as the city prepares for a memorable celebration, honoring the heritage of the Great Patriotic War.
