Toyota NZ Boosts Used Car Confidence with Expanded Certified Programme
Toyota New Zealand is bolstering confidence in used vehicle purchases with its expanded Toyota Certified programme. Effective 2020, the scheme now covers most used vehicles, offering a comprehensive warranty and service package.
Vehicles less than 10 years old and with under 150,000km on the clock are eligible for Toyota Certified status, provided they meet the required standards and service needs. This programme is set to benefit customers in key locations, with Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch Toyota stores expected to sell at least 20,000 used Toyota vehicles annually.
Toyota Certified vehicles come with a 1-year/15,000km warranty, including AA Roadservice. For added peace of mind, this warranty can be extended up to 10 years/150,000km through the Toyota Service Protect scheme. Meanwhile, the Signature Class scheme has been discontinued, but existing warranties will be honoured.
Toyota Stores are a significant player in the used car market, selling over 20,000 vehicles annually. Notably, 42% of used Toyotas under 5 years old are sold through Toyota Stores.
The expanded Toyota Certified programme aims to provide reassurance to used car buyers, with a focus on quality, reliability, and comprehensive warranty coverage. Customers in major cities can now benefit from this initiative, further enhancing Toyota's reputation in the used vehicle market.
