TotalEnergies Boosts EV Charging Network with Acquisition of Nordian CPO

TotalEnergies has made a significant move in the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure sector by acquiring Nordian CPO, a subsidiary of Wenea. This transaction, advised by Bank of America, brings 200 charging sites to TotalEnergies' network, supplied with renewable electricity and strategically located across Spain.

Wenea, the leading independent Spanish provider of EV charging services, has been expanding its network at a rapid pace. It surpassed its deployment targets in 2023, winning major tenders in Spain and the UK. The company operates over 1,200 charging points and serves various sectors within the Spanish fleet ecosystem.

TotalEnergies, aiming to deploy over 1,000 high-power charging sites in Europe by 2028, has expressed enthusiasm about this acquisition. Mathieu Soulas, Senior Vice President of New Mobilities and Marketing at TotalEnergies, has confirmed their interest in a strategic partnership with Wenea to build and invest in more high-power charging stations.

With this acquisition, TotalEnergies adds 200 charging sites to its network, strengthening its position in the European EV charging infrastructure market. The company, along with Wenea, plans to continue expanding its network, connecting more charging points, and serving the growing demand for electric vehicle charging solutions.
