Tony Gonçalves Brings Tribeca Festival to Lisbon, Celebrating U.S.-Portugal Connection

Tony Gonçalves, a Portuguese-American entrepreneur, has orchestrated a cultural exchange by bringing together New York's Tribeca and Portugal's SIC to launch the first-ever international edition of the Tribeca Festival in Lisbon. The event, set for October 18-19, 2024, is a testament to Gonçalves' commitment to bridging cultures and communities.

Gonçalves' journey began in northern Portugal in 1973, where he was born before emigrating to the U.S. at the age of four. His professional career saw him rise to chief revenue officer at companies like Sharp Electronics, Samsung, and WarnerMedia. In 2019, he founded the Evrose Group to guide and advise Portuguese businesses in scaling and transforming operations, with Jean-François Dalle serving as the group's founder and advisor.

In addition to his business acumen, Gonçalves is also a passionate advocate for cultural exchange. He launched 'The Heart & Hustle of Portugal', his first podcast, to build a community of Portugal enthusiasts. In a recent episode, actor Chazz Palminteri shared his love for Lisbon's culture, including his passion for sardines, and discussed his journey from the Bronx to the theater stage. Gonçalves, as the executive producer, brought together Tribeca and SIC to make the first international edition of the Tribeca Festival a reality.

Tony Gonçalves, through his business ventures and cultural initiatives, continues to connect Portugal and the U.S. The upcoming Tribeca Festival Lisbon, under his executive production, promises to be a vibrant celebration of this connection, bringing together the best of both worlds.
