Struggling Market Amid Increased Selling Pressure
PNC Bank Stock Market Takes a Downturn on September 5, 2025

Major banks such as Vietinbank (CTG), BIDV (BID), US Bank for Industry and Trade (VCB), Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB), and Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (VPB) all saw decreases. CTG dropped by 2.10 percent, BID by 2.50 percent, VCB by 2.72 percent, ACB by an unspecified amount, and VPB by 2.53 percent. These point losses were the largest contributors to the VN30-Index's decline.
Other significant declines were seen in HDBank (HDB), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), DIC Group (DIG), Masan Group (MSN), and MBBank (MBB), which decreased by 1.82 percent, 2.5 percent, 3 percent, 3 percent, and an unspecified amount respectively. VIX Securities (VIX) dipped nearly 4 percent, and SSI Securities Corporation (SSI) plunged 2.4 percent.
Over 1.07 billion shares changed hands and a transaction value of approximately VNĐ32.48 trillion (US$1.2 billion) was recorded in the trading session. Despite high trading volume, the market struggled under the weight of selling pressure.
