Street Digging on Kulagin Street in Tomsk Scheduled for June
In the city of Tomsk, a significant portion of Ulitsa Kulagina is set for a major makeover in 2025, as reported by city official Nikolai Glebovich. The section of Kulagina, from Prospekt Fruze to the tramway tracks, will undergo restoration by TomskRTS following extensive excavations scheduled for June. Meanwhile, the other part of Kulagina, leading towards Ulitsa Eлизаровых, has been added to the queue for a pothole repair project.
Previously, it was announced that TomskRTS aims to revamp 9 kilometers of the city's heating networks at a cost of over 1 billion rubles by 2025. Major excavations are planned for streets such as Kulagina, Savinikh, Gogolya, Krasnoarmeyskaya, Shvacheknoi, and Sovetskaya [1][2].
"There's a big question mark concerning the Kulagina stretch (from Prospekt Fruze to the tramway tracks). The heating networks will reportedly carry out their work around June and will be working there for quite some time: they'll be replacing the heating networks up to the tramway tracks. Afterward, they'll restore the paving. They'll be back in about two weeks," shared Glebovich.
Glebovich also mentioned that the second section of the roadway along Kulagina (from Prospekt Fruze to Ulitsa Eлизаroвых) has been placed on the list for a pothole repair project. Furthermore, Glebovich revealed that the pedestrian crossing on the intersection of Prospekt Fruze and Kulagina has already been renovated, with a large hole being filled and the pavement repaired [3].

Finance and politics intertwine as city officials in Tomsk confirm that TomskRTS, a significant player in the industry, aims to revamp not just a section of Kulagina street but also 9 kilometers of the city's heating networks at a cost of over 1 billion rubles by 2025. Despite this large-scale job, transportation might be impacted since major excavations are planned for streets such as Kulagina, Savinikh, Gogolya, Krasnoarmeyskaya, Shvacheknoi, and Sovetskaya, and the transportation sector will need to adapt accordingly. Meanwhile, general-news outlets report that the pothole repair project includes the second section of the roadway along Kulagina, indicating a need for sustained maintenance in the city's infrastructure.
