Stockholm's OMXS30 rises slightly as Volvo and Nordnet shine, Dometic crashes
Stockholm's OMXS30 index edged up by 0.25% on Wednesday. Most listed companies saw gains, but Dometic stood out as the day's worst performer. The outdoor equipment maker's shares crashed after weak earnings, while Volvo and Nordnet led the stock market higher.
Volvo's stock rose by 2.6% following stronger-than-expected results. The company beat analyst forecasts and announced a special dividend of 4.50 krona per share. Investors responded positively to the automaker's financial health.
Nordnet also surged, climbing 4.6% by the close. The digital bank's performance added to the stock market news.
SSAB, however, saw its shares slip by 1.4%, despite reporting earnings above market expectations. The steelmaker's results failed to lift its stock price in a mixed trading session.
Dometic suffered the sharpest decline, with shares plunging 14.3%. The company slashed its dividend to 1.00 krona per share after missing adjusted EBITA targets. CEO Juan Vargues has overseen several quarters of underperformance, including a forecasted drop in Q4 2025 earnings to 316 million SEK from 349 million SEK in the same period a year earlier. The earnings call on January 28, 2026, will likely face tough questions from investors.
The OMXS30's slight gain masked sharp contrasts among its components. Volvo's dividend boost and Nordnet's rally highlighted strong performers, while Dometic's steep fall underscored its ongoing struggles. The stock market today's reaction reflected confidence in some firms and deep concern for others.
