Stock Market Update: DAX indices decline significantly during midday, with majority of values recording losses
Oil prices dipped on Tuesday and continued to fall on Wednesday, with a barrel of North Sea Brent crude oil closing at $50.30 and $50.29 respectively. The downward trend saw a decrease of $0.61 or 1.20 percent from the close of the previous trading day on Tuesday, and a further decrease of $0.62 or 1.22 percent on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the stock markets showed a mixed picture. The Frankfurt Stock Exchange experienced gains on Tuesday afternoon, with the DAX increasing by 1.1 percent from the previous trading day. The top performers in trading on Tuesday were Bayer, Infineon, and SAP, with their share prices all rising. However, Delivery Hero was the only stock with losses during the day.
On the other side of the globe, the Nikkei index painted a different picture. It declined on both Tuesday and Wednesday, closing at 26,436.39 points on both days. The index saw a decrease of 1.04 percent from the previous day on both occasions.
In other news, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange launched a new email service on Tuesday. As for the CEO of Delivery Hero, who recorded losses in the stock market on Tuesday midday, is Niklas Östberg. The share price of the company decreased during trading on Tuesday.
The share price of Infineon also increased during trading on Tuesday, joining Bayer and SAP in the list of gainers for the day. The DAX was calculated at approximately 13,395 points around 12:30 PM German time on Tuesday. The same time on Wednesday, a barrel of North Sea Brent crude oil cost $50.29.
