In the heart of Yakutia, the Siberian region known for its harsh climate and permafrost challenges, a significant development has taken place. The reconstruction of Naberezhnaya Street in Yakutsk and the access road to the Namyv station have been completed, bringing much-needed improvements to the city's infrastructure.

The project, undertaken by LLC DRSU "Sette" under the supervision of MCKU "Glavstroy," has resulted in a modernised roadway and sidewalks. The road, now measuring 601.91 meters in length, boasts an asphalt concrete and gravel surface, with a roadway width ranging from 6.0 to 7.5 meters, accommodating two lanes of traffic. The sidewalks are a generous 2.0 meters wide, offering ample space for pedestrians.

Afanasiy Alexandrov, Deputy Director for Road Construction at MCKU "Glavstroy" of the "City of Yakutsk" municipal district, has confirmed the completion of the project. Prime Minister Kyryl Bychkov has also highlighted the positive changes in Yakutsk's road infrastructure, praising the successful completion of the project.

The reconstruction project is part of Yakutia's broader efforts to upgrade its road network. Over the past five years, more than 2,500 kilometers of roads have been built in the region, with a significant portion updated as part of the "Safe and Quality Roads" national project.

However, the challenges posed by thawing permafrost continue to impact Yakutia's infrastructure. Roads and rail lines built on what used to be permanently frozen ground are warping and becoming unstable as the transition zone between frozen and unfrozen ground expands. This makes maintenance very costly and complicated.

Despite these challenges, the reconstruction of Naberezhnaya Street and the access road to the Namyv station mark a significant step forward in Yakutsk's urban development. The long-awaited infrastructure site at Naberezhnaya Street in Yakutsk is now open for use, enhancing the city's connectivity and offering residents and visitors an improved transportation experience.

Remarkably, the project's success in finalizing the road's reconstruction and enhancing pedestrian space highlights the potential for advancements in the city's finance and transportation industries.
