Stamford University celebrates graduates while urging climate action in Bangladesh

Stamford University Bangladesh held its convocation ceremony, where 1,407 graduates from five faculties and 14 departments received their degrees. Among them, ten students earned the chancellor’s gold medal for achieving the highest CGPA, while 40 others were awarded the vice-chancellor’s gold medal.

Hasan highlighted pressing environmental issues such as air pollution, deforestation, and river contamination. She stressed that these problems demand long-term commitment, as their resolution would not happen overnight. Without immediate action, she cautioned, Bangladesh could face irreversible geographic changes that would burden future generations.

The convocation recognised academic excellence, with 50 students receiving gold medals for their outstanding performance. Meanwhile, Hasan’s warnings underscored the urgency of environmental action, while Ahmed’s advice to graduates reinforced the importance of dedication to societal betterment. Both messages aimed to inspire a new generation to tackle pressing challenges with responsibility and vision.
