Singapore's Spore Fall Becomes Southeast Asia's First AI-Assisted Micro-Drama Series
Singapore-based studio Edenstone is set to launch Spore Fall, Southeast Asia's first human-written, AI-assisted micro-drama series. The 10-episode vertical series will debut between April and June 2026 across multiple platforms, including TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels. A feature film adaptation is also planned for a theatrical release in 2028, marking a bold step in AI-supported storytelling for the region. Edenstone specialises in media IP that blends Web3, AI, and community-driven storytelling. For Spore Fall, the studio has integrated generative AI into traditional production workflows to speed up content creation while keeping the narrative rooted in human writing. The series explores themes of collective resilience and adaptation, reflecting challenges faced by Southeast Asian societies.
Silver Media Fund (SMF), an investor in high-quality media tech and content businesses, has agreed to structure and lead a capital raise for the project. SMF will finance the expansion of *Spore Fall* beyond the micro-series, backing its development into feature films, games, and collectibles. This makes *Spore Fall* the first AI-supported transmedia franchise in the region to secure such backing. As of March 2026, no other country outside Southeast Asia has successfully produced and released a similar AI-assisted short-form transmedia franchise. While AI tools from companies like Runway or Midjourney have enabled pilots globally, no verified public examples exist in North America, Europe, or Latin America. *Spore Fall* will premiere not only on social media platforms but also through selected streaming partners and its official website.
The release of Spore Fall will test the potential of AI in accelerating transmedia storytelling for Southeast Asian audiences. With SMF's financial support, the series could expand into films, interactive games, and merchandise by 2028. Its success may set a precedent for how AI and human creativity can collaborate in future media projects.
